H.R. Giger Bar is an establishment modelled by the Swiss artist H. R. Giger. Currently, there are two Giger Bars: the H.R. Giger Bar in Chur, Switzerland, opened in 1992, and The Museum H.R. Giger Bar, located in Château St. Germain, Gruyères next to the H.R. Giger Museum in Switzerland, which opened its doors in 2003. These bars are works of art created from sketches and ideas directly given from the artist. The style closely mimics Giger’s acclaimed biomechanical environments from “Alien”. The inside of the Château St. Germain location is cavernous and lined with vertebrae type structures.
A third H.R. Giger bar was located in Shirokanedai, Tokyo in the 1980s. Giger stopped his involvement with this location after facing issues with the owners and most of the design was based on only the early sketches. There are currently talks to bring a H.R. Giger bar to the US, though without the artist's direct input we worry about the detail involved.
