A Dark Art & Craft favorite and an artist with strong sculptural roots, Odani Motohiko creates a world of technological advanced figures. These are dark futuristic works focusing on detailed structure and shape. The biomechanical shapes Motohiko makes breed a psychological state that induces fear, pain, unease. These emotions are things that are uncomfortable for the viewer, yet somehow we cannot look away. His complex works show an almost otherworldly species taking shape in front of us.
This art created by Motohiko does not rely on traditional methods of production, but it pushes forward with little concern for conventional techniques. At times we are reminded of the dark organic structures of HR Giger waiting for us in the shadows. We could not love it more.
